Make Your Voice Heard: An MLK Day Youth Advocacy Workshop

  • Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 1pm - 5pm.  Seattle University Student Center, Room 160.  1100 E James Way, Seattle, WA.
  • The American Muslim Empowerment Network (AMEN) -- a new initiative of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound - MAPS, and Kids4Peace Seattle invite youth in 6th-12th grade to join us for a workshop using media to tell positive personal stories about American Muslims!

  • Are you concerned about the dramatic increase in Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hate crimes in the US? Do you want to send a message that bigotry and discrimination have no place in our communities? Do you want to learn how to use your voice and your personal story to make positive change? Do you want to become an empowered youth?!

  • Then register for this FREE workshop to learn how you can use the power of your voice/pen, speak out publicly against Islamophobia, racism and hate in our communities, and potentially change the hearts and minds of millions!

  • Youth of all (or no) faith backgrounds welcome, but pre-registration required. See tinyurl.com/mlkdayworkshop

  • Organized by MAPS-AMEN and Kids4Peace Seattle, and supported by a long list of co-sponsors. Info at https://www.facebook.com/events/1369444719753997/
