Unless you happen to drop by the church on a Friday or Saturday morning, you might not be aware of the work of the Tolt Cleaning Teams. These teams have been busy behind the scenes for the last several years keeping all the church's indoor spaces shining. 6 teams work on a rotating 6-week schedule to sweep and mop, vacuum and dust, scrub sinks and toilets, empty garbage and recycling and even clean windows, spot clean carpets, etc. etc.
Just think: every week, 2 people working at least 2 hours each; 52 weeks; at several dollars per hour: the cleaning teams are saving our church a sizable sum each year.
Tolt has relied on volunteer cleaners for a while now, but in the past, the church has had some funds for paid custodial help. That meant volunteers didn't work quite so often. However, our budgets since 2009 just don't have this extra funding.
Now the cleaning teams are asking for your help! We would love to spread out our schedule to work about once every 8 weeks instead of every 6. This means we need ONLY A FEW more individuals to pitch in. Anyone who can push a broom or vacuum and wield a sponge is welcome. NO EXPERIENCE necessary -- we will happily train you.
